Another Day Another Road Trip...
I'm back on the road for more meetings, seminars, client visits and whatever else the trip throws at me... I am very very grateful for hsdpa, without it I might be counting the tiles in the bathroom or watching grass grow...

Living Out Of A Suitcase...
In a freak act of nature, the power supply to my street has been cut off till Monday... Damn... Things just seem to be getting worse... first the power adapter and now this... NIAMA...

DAMN!!!
After searching the car and apartment for the past 3 days, I guess I can safely say that I left my eeepc power adapter somewhere and I will never see it again... Looks like I have to go to the service centre downtown and pay them the outrageous sum of rm 189.00 for the power adapter...

On The Road... Again...
I travel alot... and I mean alot... so much so that I'm gonna be in 3 different states and 2 different countries by Sunday night... The trips suck as I'm normally thrown in boiler room meetings which easily last more than 12 hours per stretch but they have become some what more tolerable ever since I got the eeepc...
Why??? Well for starters I'm normally in places which I can not even pronounce and the advent of wifi is something that will not grace their venues for at least the next 5 years... Take my accommodations for tonight for instance, its smack in the middle of no where for starters... everything was closed by the time I got out of my meeting... and there isn't even a tv in the whole motel...
Thankfully, I have the eeepc and my htc trinity with me which allows me to surf the net via a hsdpa connection, watch videos which I have copied onto a portable hdd and keep in touch with friends and relatives...
I mean I could do all this with a regular sized laptop but consider this, the eeepc is way way lighter and has phenomenal battery life and it has flash memory instead of a usual hdd so it can withstand a fair bit of bumps...
The eeepc is alot smaller as well and does not attract as much attention from the locals too... The eeepc has definitely made travelling out of town much much better...

EEEPC ABUSE!!!
What I saw during my coffee break was just sick!!! Another patron in the coffee shop was using a glitter pen to decorate her eeepc!!! ABUSE!!! ABUSE!!! Why has the innocent eeepc been made to suffer???

What do you do when there is only ONE power point in your room and that sole power point is connected to the air conditioner??? You make a judgment call between having the eeepc running (charging and synching your phone, surfing the web and chatting on msn) or being comfortable... Damn, it appears I'm addicted to the internet...

Its Down...
My isp has been plagued by problems lately and my connection has been spotty at best for the past few weeks... It finally died last night, so I guess I'll have to rely on hsdpa for a while...

BSOD Issue...
The BSOD issue with skype has not been resolved... I wonder what's wrong??? Even the tech guru doesn't have an answer...

BSOD???
It seems the version of Skype that I have installed on the eeepc is not a team player... each time I open Skype, the eeepc bsod's and reboots... I wonder if a new install will help???

The ram switch from 512 mb to 1 gb from the authorized asus service centre will set you back rm 300.00... The ram must be made of gold or something because that is approximately 1/4 the price of an eeepc...

I Wonder...
I wonder what time I need to leave the house tomorrow morning to get to MTCS @ Pavillion by 10.00 am... I hope there won't be a jam because that will only add to my tuhlan...

Whaaaaaaaaaaat???
Didn't really have time to test the eeepc after the restore early this morning, it booted up into the os and everything seemed fine... popped open file manager and sos task manager and they worked without fuss... That was until a few hours later when I discovered that the os will hang each time I tried to use any of the network functions (lan or wireless)... TUHLAN!!!
After a somewhat lengthy phone call to MTCS @ Pavillion and speaking to a floor sales person and then the assistant manager, they have agreed to change the unit for me tomorrow morning at 10.00am... Looks like its gonna be a mad rush tomorrow morning... Well at least its gonna turn out ok...
Note: Apparently they won't do a swap if the bios has been upgraded, even if its from their official support site / bundled software updater...

My eeepc stopped booting properly at 1.00 am... then it started displaying some gibberish... It was fine at 2.30 am and at 3.00 am it crashed for good... Been trying to run the auto recovery since then but its not working... first it says it cannot find a valid linux image, then it says it can't mount the image and then it says it can't detect the usb drive... wonderful... and it lasted what??? 4 days... Its so ironic that they chose the "Rock Solid - Heart Touching" tagline...
