The branch manager and assistant branch manager of MTCS @ Pavillion swapped the defective unit with a brand new one at about 11.00 am this morning... The swap however, was not as smooth as I expected it to be... The eeepc had a morbid sense of humour when it decided to connect to the store ap without any fuss... No os hangs or error messages, it just worked... This continued for quite some time... I mean it worked flawlessly, speed was decent, the pages loaded properly and they were hard pressed to find anything wrong with it... But I persisted (and showed them pictures of the error... heck I even beamed the picture to the assistant branch manager) and I got a new unit...
Now the adventure can truly begin...
Note: MTCS also mentioned that asus malaysia is now offering the ram upgrades for the eeepc but did not disclose any pricing... Interested parties can bring their eeepc to any authorized asus centre for the upgrade...
